Is it legal to leave home security cameras on in your home when you are not there but other people are?
So you own the house, but will not be there when the camera are on. They are in every room in the house, even two closets and the basement. If you are having house sitters watch your house and dogs, and to also let the cleaning lady in, can you legally leave the camera running the whole time you are gone?
I think it sounds like an unnecessary invasion of privacy. Something about it doesn’t feel right to me, so my gut tells me no. The house sitters and cleaning lady would not be aware of the cameras.
My only point of agreement is that the house belongs to an individual, and he and she can do what they want to protect it.
Let me hear from some lawyers or cops.

You sound poor.
Well I’m not a lawyer or a cop, but I do know that you are allowed to leave your camera on while you are not home. Your home is your private property so you have the right to set up cameras.
You can have cams anywhere but in areas where privacy is expected, such as bathrooms, showers, and bedrooms.
In general, you can have cameras almost anywhere you want in your own home. Depending on specific state laws, the major exceptions typically are areas of expected privacy (notably bedrooms and bathrooms), but several states even allow cameras in those locations as long as installation is authorized by the owner of the property.
yes it legal, you don’t have to be home.
